Step 1: Getting Started

This step is about preparing well to make sure your project will be successful now and will continue to succeed well in the future.

Getting Started involves thinking about:

  • who needs to be involved?

  • what will get, and keep, people interested and informed?

  • what kind of place would we like our school grounds to become?

  • what resources do we need to help us with Steps 2 & 3?

In addition you will need to know that you have your head teacher’s full support and commitment towards achieving appropriate changes within the school grounds.

There are many ways to work through this step and you will undoubtedly have your own creative ideas. The pages here will help you to think about what’s right for your school. They will also help you to make the most out of the time you have available
