Step 2: People and Place - NOW

This step is all about finding out about your school site as it is NOW. You will investigate how the different spaces within the school grounds are used, and what people think about the grounds: what are the good things, and what are the issues, problems and challenges?

Throughout People & Place NOW you will need to look at the whole site as well as each of the spaces within it.

People & Place NOW involves:

  • identifying who you need to talk to and about what

  • getting outside to explore, discover and discuss the spaces you have

  • keeping a record of what you find out in a creative and visual way so that the judges, and others who are unfamiliar with your site, can understand the situation

Remember you will need to use what you find out NOW to shape the FUTURE part of your submission.

Once again you will have your own creative ideas about how to approach your investigation and the pages here will help you think about what’s right for your school. They will also help you continue to get the most from the time you have available.
