Step 1: Vision

Every successful project needs to begin with a shared goal or vision to work towards. As part of planning Grounds for Optimism in your school, involve your school community in shaping a simple vision or goal that describes the kind of place that the school community would like their school grounds to be.

Your launch is an ideal opportunity for involving a wider range of people in creating this vision but there are many other ways you could ask people to contribute. For instance, by using your Virtual Learning Environment, or placing sticky notes in the foyer, or as an activity at a tutor group or staff meeting.  The developing a vision activity suggests one approach to creating your vision that would be suitable to use with a large group of people.
